Daretoask
Do you have an idea, a plan, a wish, a dream or a project? Something you want to bring to life, realise, come true? Something you would love to become reality, but you have no idea how and where to start? Or have you felt stuck and feel that now is the time to make it all happen? Then Daretoask is for you.
What is Daretoask?
At Daretoask (Dutch: Durftevragen) we believe that you can really use the help of other people. Because your project (however big or small it is) will move faster, get easier, be more fun and more effective. And because it will succeed with more flow and energy. That’s why Daretoask brings together people and wishes that will result into people (who often hardly know each other) helping each other to make things happen.
Daretoask is about making ‘social surplus’ visible and putting it to good use. There is an abundance of almost everything in western society, only sometimes it’s in the wrong place. It can be stuff: on one side of the street a company puts old computers they don’t use anymore in their basement. On the other side of the street a non-profit organization finds itself squirming for money, because they need computers, not even the best of the best. But also knowledge, ideas and network: maybe a colleague who’s one floor up is really good at something that you’re not good at. Or maybe your neighbor knows someone who could skyrocket your project. Key is knowing how to ask the best question.
In a Daretoask workshop we start with some inspiring examples of social surplus. Then the 8 to 12 participants will be working with each other’s questions and at the end of the session you will go home with a mountain of tips, tricks, ideas and contacts. Whether you’re working at a company, you’re an entrepreneur, independent, student or in between jobs: everybody is welcome.
When to join a Daretoask workshop?
Do you have a dream, plan, wish or project that you could use some help with? Do you want to share your knowledge, experience and network with others? Are you up for an energy boost and an exciting experience? Everything is possible! Also questions related to your personal life, it doesn’t have to be about business. There are no restrictions or conditions. Even having a question isn’t necessary. It is fun though and you’ll take home a big flipchart sheet full of post-it notes with tips, tricks, ideas and contacts. It will hopefully inspire you to ask even more. Plus you’ll have come much closer to making your dream come true!
Value Based Appreciation
Have you ever paid for something upfront and then afterwards you felt it wasn’t really worth it? Enter ‘Value Based Appreciation’. First you participate, then you decide how high you value the experience and/or outcome. You can ask for an invoice for which you decide on the amount. Or you can show your appreciation with something off of the facilitator’s wish list that will be sent after the workshop. All Daretoask facilitators have their wishlist online.
Daretoask in The Netherlands
Darotoask is growing rapidly in the Netherlands. Open sessions are given all over the country, events and seminars ask for our participation and more and more companies see the value of the concept, both for stimulating interaction and knowlegde-sharing between departments, and for generating a quicker and broader answer to questions they are puzzling on.
On Twitter the hashtags #durftevragen and #dtv have been removed from the trending-topics lists, for they were on top week after week anyway. Durftevragen has even become a verb, although we haven’t made it to the dictionary yet…
